Tunisia will get T-6C Texan trainer aircraft.
The U.S. cooperation agency in defense and security field (DSCA) has given approval for the sale of T-6C Texan aircraft to Tunisia. The FMS worth $234 million must get Congress approval. It includes 12 trainer aircraft as well as support and additional equipment.
This sale aims at modernizing the Tunisian fleet and strengthen the air force capability so it can conduct counter-terrorism and frontier surveillance missions.
The global fleet of T-6C Texan II currently cumulates 3.2 million flight hours. Over 900 aircraft are into service all around the world.
