The Singaporean group ST Engineering and Vietnam Airlines announced a few days before the launch of the Singapore Airshow, which takes place from February 11 to 16, that they were exploring the idea of ​​setting up a joint venture in Vietnam with other potential air partners on the MRO sector. The joint venture would operate its activities at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and provide base maintenance services.

This joint venture could help monitor the commercial aircraft in-service fleet  and the MRO market in the Asia-Pacific region, which are estimated to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 4.5% and 5.0% respectively over the next decade.
