Safran Landing Systems has been selected by AirAsia X to provide landing gear maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services on the carrier's A330 fleet.
The signing ceremony took place in Sepang, in the presence of Benyamin Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia X, and Shang Cheow Beng, Managing Director of Safran Landing Systems in Singapore.
The contract covers complete overhaul and repair services for landing gear on 24 Airbus A330 aircraft. The first scheduled services will be provided by Safran Landing Systems MRO facility in Singapore, starting this year and continuing through 2025.
Safran Landing Systems MRO division in Singapore is currently under contract to provide landing gear MRO services for the AirAsia A320 fleet (32 aircraft). The new deal brings total contracted AirAsia Group aircraft to 56.
Safran Landing Systems is now headed by Jean-Paul Alary, who was appointed CEO in February. He replaces Vincent Mascré, who was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of Zodiac Aerospace and CEO of the company's Seats business.
