Russian Helicopters and Chinese manufacturer Avicopter say they have determined the technical parameters of their joint Advanced Heavy-lift Helicopter (AHH) project. Negotiations on the financial side of the project took place during China Helicopter Expo 2017.
Under the intergovernmental agreement signed in 2016, Russian Helicopters and Avicopter will co-develop the advanced heavy-lift helicopter with a view to launching series production in China. Russian Helicopters will contribute technologies, develop the technical proposal and supply certain systems on a contractual basis.
The Chinese side will be responsible for design and construction of engineering development models, testing, certification and serial production, as well as marketing activities.
The intergovernmental agreement on AHH co-development was approved by Dmitry Medvedev, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, in February 2017.
Russian Helicopters CEO Andrey Boginsky declared that the two partners had reached common ground on technical parameters and indicated that contract signature was targeted for the year-end.
