The Russian armed forces will receive 94 planes and helicopters before 2025, including 22 fifth-generation Su-57 fighters, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Choyugu told the enlarged meeting of the Ministry's board of directors on 21 December. "As far as aircraft are concerned, the first deliveries of 94 aircraft and helicopters are planned by the end of 2024, including 22 Su-57 fighters, which will increase to 76 by 2028", the Defence Minister stressed. Air and Cosmos will reveal in the last issue of the year, on newsstands this Friday 25 December, the details of the delivery schedule for the Su-57.
Second stage turbojet engine
Sergei Chemezov, Director General of the state-owned company Rostec, announced on 7 December that the first mass-produced Su-57 fighter with the first stage engine would be delivered to the Russian aerospace forces by the end of 2020, while the first Su-57s with the advanced second stage engine would be assembled in 2022.
