V2500 and GTF

Based in Santiago, Chile, LATAM is Latin America's leading airline group, with a presence in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, as well as international operations in Latin America and Europe, Oceania, the USA and the Caribbean. LATAM was the first airline in the Americas to operate the Airbus A320neo. LATAM currently operates more than 80 V2500-powered Airbus A320ceo and 16 GTF-powered Airbus A320neo aircraft.

The relationship between the engine-maker and the airline, or rather LAN Airlines, is not exactly a recent one, dating back more than seven decades to the R-1830 Twin Wasp double-star engine, which powered the airline's Douglas DC-3s.
