CTOs of Dassault, Boeing, Airbus, UTC, Rolls Royce, General Electric and Safran have signed a common declaration to promote the sustainability of the industry.
While the pression is growing stronger on environmental issues, the CTOs (Chief Technology Officers) of 7 big air industry companies have signed a commitment to promote the sustainability of the industry during the Paris Air Show 2019. The occasion enables them to remind the 3 great axes of work which would allow progress, sometimes together, sometimes in competition, in a sustainability field:
- Continue the design and development of aircraft’s and engines’ technologies in a permanent perspective of improvement of the power efficiency and the reduction of CO2 emission.
- Sustain commercialisation of aircraft’s sustainable alternative fuels. Almost 185 000 commercial flights have shown modern airplanes are ready to use it.
- Develop drastically new aeronautic and propulsion technologies and accelerate the development of technologies for 3rd generation aircraft.
