Mapaero, a French provider of water-based coatings, has signed agreements with AVIC and Irkut on cabin and structural painting solutions.
Mapaero, the leading French water-based coatings provider, has signed an MoU with AVIC, the Chinese aerospace R&D and production integrator, as well as with Irkut, the Russian aircraft manufacturer.
With regards to AVIC, the project aims at setting up R&D and painting solutions on the C919 programme. In a second stage, the project will be extended to other programmes beyond Chinese aircraft manufacturers.
Concerning Irkut, the MoU targets painting solutions for composites on the MC21 aircraft. R&D and customer support solutions are key parts of the project.
Eric Rumeau, CEO of Mapaero, said the two agreements were the first steps in the company’s global development geared at expanding its expertise worldwide.
