MTU Maintenance materializes its presence in Dubai by opening a permanent office located near the airport. Objective: meet demand on shop visits for CFM56, V2500 as well as GE90 engines.
MTU Maintenance is now more visible in Dubai.
The MRO service provider has just opened a permanent sales office near Dubai International Airport (DXB). A strategic hub for the company who has “some of its largest customers based in Middle East”, underscores Martin Friis-Petersen, Senior Vice President MRO Programs, MTU Aero Engines. Besides, the Middle East has one of the largest fleet of Boeing 777s in the world which are powered by GE90 engines. Emirates alone has more than 120 units in its fleet. And for its part, Qatar Airways has 78 in its different versions. Facts that supported the decision to open this office, when MTU Maintenance also witnessed strong demand for narrowbody services in the region and has been experiencing an increase in CFM56 and V2500 shop visits from the region to its facilities in Hannover and Zhuhai.
High value engines
“We have over 20 customers in the region”, adds Sami Ben-Kraiem, Vice President Marketing and Sales, Middle East & Southeast Asia. “We support our customers with these high value engines from their entry into service, for example with sale and lease back, reliable MRO performance, right up to the migration or exit of such fleets, both within and beyond the region.” This opening follows on from the recently opened MTU Maintenance Lease Services office in Singapore and Dublin.
