During the MRO Europe 2019 trade show, Safran Nacelles and Virgin Atlantic could finalize an MRO contract concerning the thrust reversers of the British airline’s fleet of 10 Airbus A330ceo aircraft. All the operations will be carried out at the Safran Nacelles repair centre in Pont-Audemer (France). This five-year General Term Agreement demonstrates the trust that Virgin Atlantic has placed in Safran Nacelles. It is also the result of a long-standing cooperation that started in 2004 with the entry into service of the Airbus A340-500-600 fleet.

This contract is signed within the framework of the NacelleLife program. It provides assistance on all Safran Nacelles aircraft nacelle systems. It provides operators with solutions that are fully adapted to their most specific requirements at each step of their fleet's life cycle, from aircraft pre-entry into service, its main services and maintenance operations, to its withdrawal from, or return to, operation. The package has been designed to maximize the operator's fleet operations, whilst minimizing repair and maintenance costs. “We had a real demand to have a program that is both simple and can adapt to the demands”, says Olivier Savin, Director of Support and Customer Service of Safran Nacelles.

Safran Nacelles now hopes to reach a next stage with Virgin Atlantic, which will receive its first A330neo in 2021.
