Both Latin American aircraft services companies Líder Aviação and Aero Rio Táxi Aéreo joined Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation’s company-authorized warranty facilities. The two Brazilian companies will provide warranty repairs and maintenance services to both large-cabin and midsize Gulfstream jets, including the G650ER, G650, G550 and G280. In addition to MRO services, both Líder Aviação and Aero Rio Táxi Aéreo provide aircraft charter services. Whilst Aero Rio is based at Galeão International Airport in Rio de Janeiro, Líder has an operation at São Paulo’s Congonhas Airport. The latter also possesses facilities in Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Brasilia. Among Líder Aviação business activities, the Brazilian company operates aircraft sales as well. Gulfstream also authorized Líder as a parts dealer for South America. It can now facilitate parts sales transactions to support both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events. 

“We’re committed to providing our Brazilian operators a range of choices for their aircraft maintenance needs,” said Derek Zimmerman, president, Gulfstream Customer Support. “These additions, further complemented by the new maintenance facilities planned for Palm Beach, Florida, and Savannah, will provide comprehensive and timely support throughout Brazil, especially in the two large cities where most of our operators are located.” 

Indeed, among the approximately 230 Gulfstream based in Latin America, more than half of the 40 aircraft located in Brazil are based in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and more than a third operate out of Congonhas and Galeão.

Furthermore, Gulfstream is currently enhancing its U.S. footprint. The aircraft manufacturer is operating an expansion of its customer-support hangar spaces, offices and back shops at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, scheduled for September. In parallel, it is constructing a service center at Florida’s Palm Beach International Airport, scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2020.
