On August 8, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced the delivery of the first G600. The U.S. customer took delivery of the aircraft at Gulfstream’s Savannah headquarters. This twin-engine business jet was delivered approximately one month after the aircraft earned its U.S. Federal Aviation Administration type and production certificates on June 28, 2019. The G600 entered service after a design and test program that included flying nearly 100,000 hours in the company’s labs and more than 3,200 hours of flying in the air. Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream comments: “The effort put forth by our team enabled this award-winning, technologically advanced aircraft to move from certified to delivered in an extremely short period of time.”

This is not the jet’s first record. The G600 has already set several speed records as it can fly 6,500 nautical miles (or 12,038 kilometers) at its long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85. Its maximum operating speed is Mach 0.925, the same as the Gulfstream G650ER. The aircraft is equipped with the many times rewarded Symmetry Flight Deck, which includes active control sidesticks and 10 touchscreens. To complete its list of records and awards, the G600 won the 2018 International Yacht & Aviation Awards for its interior. As a reminder, it can carry up to 19 passengers nonstop from Paris to Los Angeles or Hong Kong.
