PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF) and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) have formally concluded their strategic partnership agreement.
PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF) and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) have formally concluded their strategic partnership agreement, confirming their plans announced in April 2017.
The letter of intent signed by the two companies in 2017, covered the improvement of GMF's upgraded quality system, and capability development in the Airframe, Engine & Aircraft Component sectors.
The two partners had signed an intial MoU during the 2016 Singapore Airshow. This covered several areas of cooperation: AFI KLM E&M’s global MRO network would provide engine and component support for Garuda Indonesia’s Boeing and Airbus fleet, for example, while subcontracting maintenance services to GMF for Boeing 747 airframe support in addition to component and engine support.
Under the new agreement — signed on 11th October at Indonesia Investment Forum 2018 — the two partners will intensify their cooperation in the field of engine, component and airframe support. The collaboration is designed to improve GMF capabilities and to strengthen the footprint of AFI KLM E&M in the booming Asian MRO sector.
GMF AeroAsia is currently the largest aircraft maintenance operator in Indonesia. It aims to be one of the world's Top 10 MRO providers within three years.
