The Raid used Cerbair's UAV control solutions for EuroMed 7 summit.
Fighting against UAVs.
Cerbair revealed at the end of October that its anti-UAV solutions had been used by the French Police unit RAID (Search, Assistance, Intervention, Deterrence) to protect the Med 7 summit held in Corsica on September 10. The systems were deployed to protect the area's low-altitude airspace.
Solutions.
In order to ensure the security of the summit, the RAID used different technologies from Cerbair: Hydra system, for UAV detection and operator location; and Medusa, for neutralization, were used, as was Chimera, a new addition to the Cerbair family. This all-in-one solution enables the company to "detect, locate and neutralize any UAV threat".
RAID
This is not the first time that the RAID has used Cerbair's anti-drone solutions. The elite unit thus implemented them on the occasion of the G7 summit, the commemorations of the landing or the Armada. The RAID thus seems to be satisfied with the systems of the young French company. It remains to be seen whether these technologies will be used as part of the DPSA that will be implemented for the 2023 Rugby World Cup and the 2024 Olympics, under the supervision of the French Air and Space Forces. The CDAOA, the French air defense and air operations command, is still working on the development of an anti-UAV system, where the capabilities of the armed forces will be supplemented, at other levels, by those of the Raid or the Gendarmerie.
