Farnborough 2018: ATR to highlight latest innovations

Alongside a new ATR 42-600, the Franco-Italian turboprop builder will display Neo Classic and Neo Prestige passenger seats, Cabinstream multimedia system and ClearVision system to improve pilots' situational awareness.

ATR will display an ATR 42-600 in the colours of Silver Airways, leased from Nordic Aviation Capital, at the Farnborough International Airshow 2018. Later this year, Silver Airways will become the first ATR -600 series operator in the U.S. The aircraft will be on show in teh static area (OE33).

ATR will be highlighting some of its recent innovations. Close to the ATR 42-600 aircraft on display, visitors will have the chance to experience, in a dedicated exhibition area, the new Neo Classic and Neo Prestige passenger seats, as well as the Cabinstream system that allows passengers to stream multimedia content.

The company will also be demonstrating its ClearVision solution, an option on ATR's latest, Standard 3 avionics suite, developed in partnership with Elbit and certified last year.

This Combined Vision System improves a pilot’s situational awareness with optimised Head-Up capabilities which can also be coupled with an Enhanced Vision System (EVS) and Synthetic Vision System (SVS).

The first company to select ClearVision with EVS and CVS is Bhutan's Drukair, which has ordered an ATR 42-600 equipped with the system for delivery in July 2019.

Meanwhile, Guernsey-based Aurigny has signed a Letter of Intent for the purchase of three ATR 72-600s equipped with the ClearVision EVS system for operations over the fog-prone English Channel.
