Pratt & Whitney will provide two more Asian airlines with its MRO service platform EngineWise. Indeed, China Southern Airlines and Vietnam Airlines both signed a 12-year EngineWise comprehensive service agreement to monitor the engines powering the airlines’ A320neo family aircraft.

The agreement signed with the Chinese airline will cover engine maintenance for China Southern’s fleet of 24 Pratt & Whitney GTF powered Airbus A320neo aircraft.
As for Vietnam Airlines, the U.S. engine manufacturer will be in charge of the GTF engine maintenance for the airline's fleet of 20 Airbus A321neos — which first aircraft entered into service in late 2018.
Since entering into service in early 2016, the GTF engine has demonstrated its ability to reduce fuel burn by 16 percent, to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by 50 percent compared to the regulatory standard, and to reduce the noise footprint by 75 percent.
