Emirates Airlines will re-launch its Airbus A380 flights between Dubai and Birmingham in 2023.

Emirates Airlines to restart Airbus A380 flights to Birmingham in 2023

Emirates Airlines will once again use an Airbus A380 between Dubai and Birmingham starting in July 2023. This will make Birmingham the fourth British airport to receive an Airbus A380 from the airline since the end of Covid-19. The UAE carrier's proposed daily flight will feature an Airbus A380 with seating for 58 passengers in Business Class and 557 in Economy.

Departures will be scheduled at 7:40 a.m. and arrive at 12:25 p.m., while return flights will leave England at 2:20 p.m., arriving the following day at 12:25 a.m. The second daily rotation will continue to be operated using a two-class Boeing 777-300ER. Emirates has no competitor on this route, which has not been re-launched by Qatar Airways from Doha since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic. Emirates' Airbus A380s are already back in London (Heathrow and Gatwick) and Manchester.

Emirates Airline offered two daily Airbus A380 flights to Birmingham prior to the Covid-19 pandemic

Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline offered two daily round-trip flights using an Airbus A380 to Birmingham. The destination opened in December 2000 and hosted the airline's Airbus A380 from March 2016. The route was suspended in March 2020, but was reopened in September of the same year using a Boeing 777-300ER. By early December 2022, Emirates was serving the UK with 119 weekly flights to seven airports - London (Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted), Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow.
