Falcon Aviation of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) has taken delivery of an AgustaWestland AW169 light intermediate twin helicopter, becoming the first operator in the UAE to use the new type and the first customer worldwide to use the aircraft for offshore oil and gas transportation.

The UAE operator has placed orders for two AW169s, one in offshore transport and one in VVIP transport configuration. The offshore-configured AW169 will be used to support oil & gas operations in Abu Dhabi for TOTAL ABK. The AW169 in VVIP configuration is scheduled for delivery in August. 

The Falcon Aviation fleet already include four light twin helicopters – one Grand, one GrandNew and two AW189s. 

Falcon Aviation has also signed a letter of intent (LoI) with Airbus Helicopters for a VIP version of the H160.
