China: CFM concludes $1 billion agreement

Colorful Guizhou Airlines selects CFM LEAP-1A to power its future fleet of Airbus A320neo. The deal also includes five spare engines.

In conjunction with French President Emmanuel Macron's state visit to China, CFM International finalized a Rate-Per-Flight-Hour (RPFH) agreement with Colorful Guizhou Airlines. The 50/50 joint company between GE and Safran Aircraft Engines will equip the Chinese airline’s future fleet of up to 35 Airbus A320neo aircraft with LEAP-1A engines. The agreement is valued at approximately $1.0 billion at list price. Under the terms of the agreement, the manufacturer will supply five spare engines to the airline. CFM Services also guarantees maintenance costs for Colorful Guizhou AirlinesLEAP-1A engines on a dollar per engine flight hour basis.
