The Australian fighter aircraft F/A-18 have reached 400,000 flight hours.
On August 27, the Australian Department of Defense (DoD) announced the F/A-18A/B Hornet fleet achieved 400,000 flight hours. A step celebrated on the Royal Australian Air Force’s air base in Williamtown which hosts the aircraft’s pilots and technicians.
The 400,000 flight hours have been conducted a little over 30 years, specifies the Australian DoD. A prowess achieved 2 years before the withdrawal of the Hornets. In fact, the Australian F/A-18A/B will be replaced with F-35A Lightning II as from December 2021.
