Airbus has inaugurated a new logistics hub located close to the initial Airlog I facility in Toulouse-Cornebarrieu.
Airbus has inaugurated a new logistics platform called Airlog II, a 36,000m2 facility located close to the initial Airlog I building in Toulouse-Cornebarrieu.
The latest-generation facility, representing a €30m investment for Airbus, has been sized to accommodate all logistics activities for cabin components for A350, A330 and A320 aircraft whose interiors are outfitted in Toulouse.
Airlog II project leader Emmanuel de la Sayette explains that the new hub is designed to accelerate inflow and outflow, ensuring greater reactivity in feeding the assembly lines. The relocation of current storage facilities on multiple sites across the region onto a single site will result in significant savings in transportation costs.
Airlog I (36,000m2) was opened in 2014; a 12,000m2 extension was added in 2014. Airlog I is dedicated to structural components and equipment for all Airbus programmes.
Logistics activities in the Airlog II facility are managed by Daher, which has overall responsibility for Airbus logistics in France.
