The newest and smallest member of the Airbus Corporate Jet family, the ACJ319neo, has completed its maiden flight.
The newest and smallest member of the Airbus Corporate Jet family, the ACJ319neo, successfully completed a first flight lasting one hour and 55 min on 24th April 2019, beginning a short flight-test programme to verify its corporate jet features – such as the extra fuel tanks in its cargo-hold, which enable intercontinental range.
The ACJ319neo can typically fly eight passengers over distances up to 6,750nm/12,500km, while the ACJ320neo can transport 25 passengers 6,000nm/11,100km.
Built for K5 Aviation of Germany, the aircraft — featuring new engines and wingtip-mounted Sharklets — will be outfitted with a VVIP cabin by Fokker Techniek in the Netherlands after delivery.
K5 Aviation’s ACJ319neo is fitted with five additional centre tanks (ACTs) in its cargo-hold, and includes improvements such as a lower cabin-altitude for greater passenger comfort.
The A320neo family offers a choice of two new-generation engine options — the PurePower PW1100G from Pratt & Whitney and the LEAP-1A from CFM International. The LEAP-powered variant of the A319neo achieved certification in January.
Corporate jet orders and commitments for ACJ320neo Family-derived aircraft now total 14. Some 200 Airbus corporate jets are in service worldwide.
