With a new order from AirAsia X for 30 aircraft, the Airbus A321XLR nears 250 sales less than three months after its launch during the last Paris Air Show.
With a firm order of 30 aircraft, AirAsia X becomes the tenth customer of the Airbus A321XLR. Total sales nears 250, less than three months after the launch of this new long-haul version of Airbus A321neo at the last Paris Air Show. If the lessor Air Lease Corp. was the launch customer of the aircraft (27 orders) whose flying range is 4,700 NM (or 8,600 km) — corresponding to 700 NM more than the A321LR — to this date, its biggest clients remains American Airlines and Indigo Partners both with 50 aircraft. Follow Qantas with 36 A321XLR, then IAG (14) and JetBlue (13). Both Cebu Pacific and Flynas took ten of them while Middle East Airlines acquired four. For now, each contract is not necessary a firm order and part of them correspond to conversions of Airbus A321neo orders: 30 at American Airlines, 18 at Indigo Partners and 13 at JetBlue.
