AFI KLM E&M has signed a component support contract with Indian low cost carrier IndiGo covering the carrier's fleet of ATR 72-600 regional aircraft. IndiGo, one of Asia's biggest budget carriers, is a long-standing customer of AFI KLM E&M.
IndiGo has ordered a total of 30 ATR 72-600s, delivery of which is scheduled to get underway in the near future.
The array of services to be delivered by AFI KLM E&M includes repairs, dedicated pool access, provision of a Main Base Kit (MBK), and logistics support. The European MRO provider has worked with IndiGo since the carrier was created in 2006, providing component support for IndiGo's A320ceo and A320neo fleets. AFI KLM E&M has built up extensive experience on ATR family aircraft as an MRO provider owned by an operator of these aircraft types.
The Group recently formed a partnership with Sabena Technics to set up a dedicated A320 and ATR component repair shop in Singapore. The new organization strengthens AFI KLM E&M expertise and its engineering network in Asia.
