The Medes Institute of Space Medicine and Physiology in Toulouse has launched a call for volunteers. Are you ready to spend 60 days on bed rest to advance science and space exploration?
For its upcoming clinical study of simulating weightlessness Brace (Bed Rest with Artificial gravity and Cycling Exercise), the Medes Institute of Space Medicine and Physiology in Toulouse has issued a call for volunteers.
The goal is to recruit on this first part of the study 12 healthy men between 20 and 45 years old, ready to go on bedrest for 60 days (88 days of hospitalization in total) between April and July.
The main criteria for selection of candidates are male, healthy, no medical treatment, athletic, nonsmoker, BMI between 20 and 27 and no dietary restrictions.
Their stay will be an opportunity to test artificial gravity and to practice cycling (lying down) as a prevention method.
The study will involve a total of 24 men.
The experiment is compensated.
