Airbus Helicopters and the Kuwait Ministry of Defence have finalised a contract for the purchase of 30 H225M Caracal multirole utility helicopters along with associated support and services.The contract was signed on 9th August during the visit of the French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian to Kuwait. The order had been expected ever since the announcement of an upcoming contract by the office of the French President in June 2015.

Kuwait’s fleet of H225M Caracals will be used for a variety of missions such as combat search-and-rescue, naval operations, medical evacuation and military transportation. The helicopters will be operated by the Kuwait Air Force and the Kuwait National Guard.

Kuwait is the seventh nation to order the H225M Caracal, joining France, Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. A total of 138 Caracals have been ordered.
