Emirates has announced a commitment for 40 Boeing 787-10s, to be delivered from 2022 onwards.
As the doors opened for Dubai Airshow 2017, all eyes were on Emirates and its expected follow-on order for Airbus A380s. But it was Boeing that stole the limelight with a commitment from Emirates for 40 787-10s.
Emirates is already the world’s largest operator of the Boeing 777, with 147 aircraft currently in the fleet and a further 196 on order, including 150 777Xs. The airline will be the first to receive the 777X when deliveries start in 2020.
The deal takes the 787-10 order book past the 200 mark. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery from 2022 onwards.
